Catharine Wedding Cake (Framed)

Premise

 Each cake design is a journey into the imagination and in some ways, perhaps, a portrait of the mind of its maker.

Hi Catharine,

I just want to take a minute to send over your cake concept and sketch. I've gone over the reference images and mainly have used the Kiana Underwood arrangement as the core. The three coral charm peonies anchor the design in kind of a C and everything else is built out from there. Icelandic poppies in variety of colors including white corals and peaches are used throughout the arrangement. Golden gingko leaves are included in the lower half of the arrangement to mimic the color of the tablecloth. Ranunculus are used throughout the arrangement. Spirea and Blackthorne are the foliage used. And azalea branches included also as our lilac sweet peas. Daffodils in a variety of types are included throughout the arrangement. I started with pheasant eye Daffodils and worked to include the varieties Milli Proust used in her arrangement more of the yellows and whites and yellows to get more yellow in since you will not have the tablecloth. The background cake color is pulled from the Tulipina arrangement. It is a bluish greenish still life neutral. Light pale blue delphiniums are included as are dark blue delphiniums. There are several tulips too. I tentatively included the pink and green quirky house plant leaves that were in the Kiana arrangement as well. Flowers are tentative of course, but that's what I am aiming for and thinking. Going home within the next few days to start it. Hopefully have time to work around on the mockup too.
